Converge has a built in notification system that keeps students and teachers up to date about what is happening in their courses. No matter where you are on the site, you will see a notification icon in the top right corner of your screen and, if you have any new notifications, you will see a green bubble labeled with the number of new notifications.
If you click on the icon, a panel opens with your most recent alerts. Notifications you might receive as a teacher include new submissions, additions to the calendar, and new items that need to be graded.
Scroll down and click See More to see older notifications. You can delete notifications one at a time by checking the box on the right. You can also navigate from the notifications menu to the event or assignment by clicking View Here underneath the notification.
You can control what notifications you receive by visiting the Notification Center. Click on your name in the top right corner and choose Notification Center from the drop down menu.
This will open a page that lists all your potential notifications and their current settings.
To turn on a particular notification, click the on/off button and then choose how you would like the alerts delivered. An alert is delivered in the notification system within Converge, an email is delivered to the email account listed in your user profile, and a mobile alert will be sent to your mobile phone if you have listed it in your user profile.
If you click on the settings icon, a panel will open that lets you apply that setting to individual courses.
Please note that some of the notifications listed in the Notifications Center are actually for courses or groups you are enrolled in as a student, such as a professional learning community or a course used for data submission. If you click on the settings icon for these and you are not enrolled in any courses yourself, you will see no courses listed under that notification.
