Adding an Assignment
Adding an assignment in Converge is easy. First, navigate to the learning module where you would like to add the assignment. Then, click the Add button.
A new window will pop up, giving you a choice between Activities and Resources. For an assignment, you will choose Activities.
A window will open with all of the Activity options. Click Assignment and then click Add.
When the Assignment Window opens, name your assignment, decide whether you would like it to be visible or hidden for students at this time, whether to highlight it, and whether to display the instructions. You can change these settings at anytime.
Choose a grading period if you have set up grading periods for your course.
If you choose to add instructions, you can add them to the text box on the Instruction tab, which is open by default.
You can also click on the tabs next to the Instruction tab to add Files, Google Docs, URLS, and Videos to your assignment.
Select a due date or unclick the Enable due date box.
Then, enter the point value of the assignment and choose a grade book category if you are using the grade book.
If you have other sections of the same class, you can also copy this assignment to those courses
There is an Advanced Options button on this page. While there are some nice advanced options for assignments, most instructors will not need to utilize these. To learn more, please see our advanced options tutorials.
Click Save and Return to Course.
You should now see your assignment in your course.
You can click on the settings icon on the right side of the page to change the settings, move the file to the right or left, hide it, duplicate, it or delete it.
Click on your assignment to open it. When it opens, you will see an Edit assignment button and a Grader button in the top right corner.
Below the assignment, you will see a Grading Summary that lists how many students have submitted the assignment, how many need grading, the due date, and the time remaining. You can also view and grade student work by clicking the View/grade all submissions button.
