Creating a Page
In Converge, you can create a Page like the one below to organize all the various parts of a lesson or project in one place. A page can include your instructions, standards, procedures, links for research, and embedded, online resources like a Padlet.
To add a page, start by navigating to the module where you would like to add the page. Then, click the Add button.
A new window will pop up, giving you a choice between Activities and Resources. Choose Resources.
When the Resources Window opens, click Page, and then click Add.
When the Adding a new Page window opens, name your page, decide if you want the page to be visible, if would like to highlight it, and whether to display the instructions on the course page. You can change these settings at anytime.
Click the box labeled Hide from Parent Portal if parents do not need access to this label. By default, all resources are visible to parents and you may want to hide some items to keep the parent portal from being cluttered.
For pages, you probably won’t need to add instructions because you will include them within the page, but if you do you will add them in the Instructions box.
The next box is for your Page Content, which can include links, images, videos, and resources embedded from other places on the web, such as Padlets. Simply start adding text, links and images, which you can copy and paste from another document if you chose.
To embed online resources like Padlets, Symbaloos, Videos, and and ThingLinks, you will need to add the embed code of the resource. To do this, visit the site where you have found or created a resource, then locate and copy the embed code. It will usually be found under the Share menu. For example, in Padlet, you click the Share button on the top of the page.
When the Share options are visible, look for the embed code for the resource. For example, in Padlet, the panel below opens and you will choose Share/Export/Embed and then click Embed in your blog or website.
This will launch a new window with the code that you need to embed the resource. Click the Copy button below the code.
When you return to your course, click on the Show More Buttons on menu bar to reveal all of the available buttons.
Next, click on the Edit HTML button to reveal the code for your page.
Paste the embed code by right clicking your mouse and choosing Paste. You can also use CTRL+V on a Windows machine or Command+V on a Mac.
Then, un-click the Edit HTML button. You should see your resource in the Page content box now.
Click the Copy to other Course button if you want to add this page to another course.
Click Save and Return to Course.
You should now see your page in your course. Clicking on your page will open it, allowing you to see exactly what your students will see.
Click on the settings icon on the right side of the page to change the settings, move the page to the right or left, hide it, duplicate, it or delete it.
