Posting an agenda and other class materials every day in the same, easy-to-find place is an essential step in focusing and guiding students. Converge’s Agenda Page was designed with this in mind. Not only can you post your agenda with questions and other items, but you can also directly link activities or resources students will need that day to a text or image.
Creating a Post
To post to your agenda, navigate to your Agenda Page and then click the Create New Post in the top right corner of the page.
A new window will open where you can create a title for your post.
By default, you will be directed to a Standard Post window, which works best for posting your agenda every day. Please note that you can also choose to post a Question, a Link, a File, or a quick Poll.
You can add your text, images, and links to the text box. You can easily copy and paste these from another document if needed.
When you are finished creating the post, you can choose to post it to other courses by using the Select Courses dropdown menu.
You can also choose to Allow Student Comments and Allow Likes by checking the appropriate boxes.
Finally, you can choose to Post With A Delay. This is a handy feature, because you can prepare your post several days in advance, and have the agenda post first thing in the morning the day it is needed.
Click Save Changes, and, unless you set a delay, you should see your post immediately.
Linking to Course Resources and Activities
If you would like to link directly to a resource or activity in your course, open a new tab and navigate to the Course Page, and then to the item you would like linked. You can copy the link by right-clicking with your mouse and choosing Copy Link Address.
Alternatively, you can open the item and copy the address from the address bar at the top of the page.
Return to your Agenda Post, select the text you would link to link the activity or resource to and click the Link icon on the menu bar.
A new window will open. Paste the link in the space provided. Usually, you will want to click Open In A New Window so that students can easily navigate back to the course. Click Create Link to link the text.
The text is now linked directly to the item in your course materials, which makes it possible for all of your students to move from the agenda to the correct activity or resource easily and quickly.
