When you first open Converge, you will see your dashboard. Your dashboard includes a link to each of your courses.
To create a new course, you will click the Courses icon on the left sidebar, which opens a new window that shows your existing courses, allows you to enter a code to join a course, or click the link to Create New Course.
When you click the Create New Course link, the General tab of the Course Settings Menu will appear, prompting you to enter the basic information about your course.
Once you have finished entering the basic information, click on the Description tab at the top of the window.
In the Description section, you can add more information about the course, including a summary of the course and resources from a number of locations, including your Google Drive or OneDrive.
To add resources, click on the cloud icon to launch the File picker. Once the File picker launches, select the location of your resource or resources. If you choose Google or Onedrive, you will be prompted to login to connect before navigating to the file. Resources that you add here will be displayed on your Course Info page. This is a great place to upload your syllabus.
Once you have finished adding your course description, click on the Course Format tab at the top of the course settings window.
In the Course Format section, you can launch the File Picker to add either the course picture or the wall picture.
The image below shows the difference between a course picture (visible when you are browsing your courses and on the Dashboard) and a wall picture (visible as a banner when the course is open).
Clicking on the Cloud button will launch the File picker so you can locate your image. Again, the images can come from your Google Drive, OneDrive, or your computer. You can also access a small gallery and search Wikimedia for images with Creative Commons licensing.
You can also change the way your course appears to you and your students in this section.
When you have finished with course formatting, click on the Groups tab.
In the Groups section you can choose how Groups will operate within your course.
Once you have entered your settings, click Preview to go to the Preview tab
Here you can review and alter all of your course information, images, and settings in one place. When you are satisfied, click Save and Display at the bottom of the page.
Congratulations, you’ve created your first course! If you need to make changes to the course settings at any time, click the gear icon in the top right corner of the page.
